PLEASE WELCOME OUR NEW COUGAR CUB!!!

Hueston Woods State Park is pleased to announce the arrival of a new cougar cub to the Nature Center. We would like to thank Heaven’s Corner Zoo & Animal Sanctuary in West Alexandria, Ohio, for their generous donation of this healthy and playful four-month-old male cub.

After losing our previous resident cougar, Cougie, who was 18 when he passed away last March, the Nature Center began using donation money to repaint and refurbish the cougar exhibit in preparation for a new cat. The updated exhibit features a new heated cave, rocky sun deck and lots of natural features. Rock was harvested from the creek beds in the park to construct the cave.

The new cub, along with Eli the bobcat, numerous raptors and reptiles on display provide a wonderful educational opportunity for park visitors to learn about Ohio’s native wildlife and wildlife history. We’d like to invite the public to visit our Nature Center to see the new cougar cub and enjoy all that our park has to offer. The Nature Center is open year round, 10am - 4:30pm daily and is always FREE.
